Early in their careers, Stinson Batchelor and Miley Kimball were colleagues at the reputable Atlanta mechanical firm Mallory & Evans. Batchelor was on the planning and project management side, Kimball in the field.
Kimball left M&E while Batchelor stayed on. They stayed close and began to realize their complementary strengths made them a good team. So, they went into business together with a resolve to do good work.
Almost a decade later, the firm welcomed Stinson’s son, David, a mechanical engineer who had led expansion projects for Northside Hospital and Piedmont Hospital while at another firm. Not long after, the company became a true family business, as Miley Kimball departed for retirement, though his name would remain on the door.
Key to B&K’s steady growth was the expansion of the company’s fabrication shop, which better prepared the firm to move faster on complex projects while lowering costs.

In time, a new generation of the Batchelor family joined the company with the hiring of David’s son, Brian.
Before being named CEO, Brian served as operations manager for the firm and orchestrated the firm’s construction and move to a new headquarters on Plunkett Road in Conyers. Fabrication capacity tripled – B&K now had a state-of-the-art, 90,000-square-foot shop.

Soon after, the construction leader EMCOR Group, Inc. acquired Batchelor & Kimball, adding resources on a national scale while retaining B&K’s leadership and specialization.
In 2025, CEO Brian Batchelor transitioned into a new role with EMCOR leadership, where he will continue to contribute his expertise at a broader level. Taking over as CEO of Batchelor & Kimball is previously-COO Bill Doty, who is well-equipped to lead the company into its next chapter with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and growth.
Batchelor & Kimball continues to expand its operations with the opening of two new fabrication facilities. Located in Apex, NC, and Georgetown, TX, these new facilities are equipped with offices to support project staff, further enhancing our ability to meet the demands of our growing client base and continue delivering exceptional service.
